Closing Shots: The Ring - Take 1
Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya. Here, among the motorsport fraternity, "The Ring" is synonymous with Sunday morning drives. The excitement that precedes such a morning is akin to that christmas morning feeling when you know you have been a good boy all year long and are about to unbox the related gifts. I digress. Back to "The Ring". This is one of the most scenic roads in Nairobi. It extends from Kiambu town all the way to Limuru. The tarmac is long and winding, dark and alluring, begging you to put your foot down and experience that rush of adrenaline that can only be delivered by high horsepower equipment.
This road is flanked by lush green coffee plantations on both sides and on early mornings, you will be welcomed with sprinkles of dew and the dampness of mountain roads well known to test the mettle of even the most seasoned driver. You better bring your driver aids.
I managed to tag a couple of mates along for a sunday drive at "The Ring", but this time round, they would be helping me to get some final shots of the GC in its current state. This would immortalize the before, frozen in the frames of their DSLRs, before the rig gets handed over to Bharat at Diastar to begin the transformation. It would also be a good baseline for the after story which we are all looking forward to.

First stop: Did I mention we were joined by the Legacy?
Needless to say, we did the obligatory pulls to see what it's got.
Rear elevation. Not bad at all.
At this point, I know the guys were trying to deal with clouds and shadow and composition, but it was all coming together very well.
Though the Legacy was not the main subject, it was definitely playing its' part.
Next stop was the hill next to the S-Bends. An obscure reference that will probably resonate with other Sunday morning drivers at "The Ring".
On to the forest. Breathtaking. If you have not been here, you need to make your way to Kenya. You must.
This has to be my absolute favorite of all the shots by Leon on this day. Perfection.
Two legends.
From here it was Sayonara. Boosted off into the horizon. I can only imagine what it will be like to take a Sunday drive in the final setup with over 300 horses in tow. That's it for now.
